i scream you scream
For mint ice cream with raspberries on top. Yum yum. I love this dress. It is so beautiful and structured and the color is amazing. I bought it out of the box before it was even steamed. I had to have it. The first time I wore it I just through a white blazer over it but this time I wanted to get super girly (also like a week ago it was over 70 degrees). Pink cardigan, neutral belt (emphasize that hourglass), and my favorite super girly heels!
I love being a girl.

sunshine on a cloudy day
This skirt is a showstopping, jaw dropping, sunshine skirt! I am obsessed with yellow. Obsessed. I had to have the moment I saw it. I normally don't buy the same day I see something at work (unless it's $7.88 for a silk blouse in gorgeous cream that fits perfectly) but I knew I had to have this cheerful little skirt.
I've worn it a few times but I loved it most with the crisp white blazer and silver white pumps. It just screams spring to me. Also, a guy on the metro said "nice legs" when I was walking to my train. Drive-by compliments are the best.
Here's a color crisp photo of Boyfriend walking a way and a photo of me doing my best 1980s music video back up dancer. Rockin' out.

gold is good
Themed events are my favorite. Since St Patrick's Day was about a month ago I decided it would be good for me to take these photos off my camera and see how they turned out. The photos are meh but the outfit makes me smile. A pot of gold with a little bit of green! I also wore my elf shoes, which, on some holy days, are leprechaun shoes! Duh.

april fools
Went thrifting with my flatmate last week. We scored super big. I came home with three beautiful dresses and an amazing lace and silk gown (that may have been someones wedding dress it's so pretty). This was one of the dresses that I came home with. It's so soft and brilliantly constructed and absolutely divine. I went 60s matchy matchy with a hair bow, and fabulous red heels (c/o my beloved KTPink. love ya. thanks!).
Also, I redid my closet (finally listening to Katie's suggestion) and pulled all my clothes out of my tiny box of a closet. Everything I own (that's not folded into various shelves and drawers) is hanging in rainbow order in the wall opposite my bed. I stare at it as I fall asleep and it brightens my day every time I wake up and see it. It's also proving helpful remembering what I own. One day soon I hope to have all my laundry done so I'll have all my clothes clean and available for pursuing.

statement
The word "statement" is thrown around all over the style-sphere. Normally in relation to a statement necklace or ring. I, however, am a huge fan of the statement outfit. There are very few things in the world more statement than a silky, lace trimmed dress, fur boots, and fishnet tights. All pulled together by my favorite army jacket.

What I Actually Wore Valentine's Day
Saturday, March 3
sunshine legs
Katie and I made these pants! I bought them about a year ago for like $2 because ohmygosh YELLOW! We cut them and sewed them and then ripped them back up (because there is zero give in the fabric) and then sewed them again. Then I wore them for a really cute outfit but I sat in a car for 4 hours and never photographed them. Well, here they are--sunshine pants! That are slightly see through. Slouchy style for a slouchy day.

baby goth
Sometimes I just wake up in the morning and just gotta get goth. Although the pigtails are a little 90s grunge. This dress was my freshman year homecoming dress (nine years ago. damn). I think it works for a little day-time adventure just as well as it works for a school sponsored dance. I only went to three dances through high school and I don't think I really enjoyed any of them. Maybe I would have if they'd been held at the Bronze.

Happy Valentine's Day
The challenge issued by my friend Katie was to dream up 12 ways to wear this dress for 2012. That was way back in January. Instead, I give you eight ways to wear this dress for Valentine's Day. It makes sense if you don't think about it. I probably would have more but the sun set. Oops.
Party Dress: Belt it short and tuck the excess fabric into a weird thing that could be stylish. Throw on super high heels.
Fairy tale: Dress with crinoline worn as skirt with leopard heels. I love how bright this one is!
90s Rock: Wear it as a tunic with my favorite (and oldest) jeans. Add some leopard and Renn Fest horns for added tuffness.
Jump-er Joy!: I couldn't decided if I liked the bottom of the skirt peeking out more than the one without. This is especially fun because Katie was the one who fixed this jumper up for me when I thrifted it.
The Oracle: Yes this is super costume-y but I loved piling on gold jewelry and how ridiculous this dress looks when I let it just hang off me. Also, faux turbans are fun!

Business Appropriate: This blazer was in the closet when I moved in so I assume it was my grandmother. I love that it hides the blouse of the dress and instead I look like I just have a super neon pencil skirt--perfect for a Wednesday at the office ;).
Dance Party Baby: I scooped up this vest at the swap this summer and I love how it makes the sleeve look like baby bishop sleeves. The short skirt and fun sleeves make this a great party dress.
Grand Glamour: A silk jacket, gorgeous under-dress, and wicked high heels equals fun, fun glamour!
Happy Valentine's Day Katie (and friends!)!

hearts in the sky
On my wall is my latest art installation in the museum that is my room (I should say shoe-seum as most of my room is a display for my ever growing shoe collection). I'll have more photos later when I've tweaked it a bit more. You can tell that I've an ever growing love of hearts! The other night I stitched these heart patches (cut from an old skirt) onto a hand-me-down shirt and voila--my new favorite shirt. I wore it two days in a row. This is day two (day one was not photographed due to sun issues--ie I didn't see the sun because I was at work).
My dad gave me these blue jeans and at first I didn't know how to wear them but now I love them and feel fabulous in them even though they are super odd. I'm convinced that you can get away with wearing anything if you have a good pair of heels and a dash of red lipstick. This outfit was also the debut of my new favorite purse ever (also, my latest faux fur purchase). This was my first, of two, February purchases. So totally worth it.
