fort building

I built a fort in my living room. We gathered all the pillows in the apartment and piled in on top of them; wine glasses in one hand and the puppy in the other. We snuggled in and sipped the red and watched funny movies until late in the evening/early in the morning when sleep stole us away. He woke me around four and we moved to the bed, which was much more comfortable for our old bones.

While he cooked breakfast the next morning I curled up in the pillow pile and read. Later, after errands, I came home and napped in the fort while the record player sang and the sun set. Almost exactly 24 hours after the fort was built, I returned the sheet to the closet and the chairs to the four sides of the table. The living room is now just a living room. Until next time.

We put the Christmas lights on our tree tonight. Before we wrapped the second string around the top half I just had to play with them. I didn't get home from work till after dark and I really wanted a photo of this outfit. Structurally it's very unconventional but I just love the colors. The wine-colored skirt and socks with the navy blue blouse made me happy all day. I also enjoyed the silk on top and bottom.

hello kitty.

I finally have a totally working keyboard on my laptop. Next up: a brand new, fully functioning computer! The weather has been warming up and I'm excited to get out and take some photos! I have all these ideas bouncing around in my head and I can't wait to make some dreams come true.

Did you notice that facebook has changed the message system? They've united all the messages you've ever sent to each person in one message. I've enjoyed reading Boyfriend and my correspondence. I have some messages going all the way back to 2007 (when I first got my facebook).

art is not life

So for the past two weeks I have had a dreadful cough. A hacking cough. A horrible hacking cough. For a while I tried to romanticize it. I kept thinking of Satine in Moulin Rouge who was dying of tuberculosis and was coughing throughout the movie. The movie is terribly romantic and, because she is falling in love and dying at the same time, the coughing is terrible romantic.



I have, however, come to the conclusing that coughing is not romantic.
And, if you have TB you will probably die.
