The most romantic date I've ever been on was with myself. Last weekend, I took myself to Brighton-a beach town on the English coast. I took a train there and treated myself to lunch (cranberry and brie on baguette) and bought myself a velvet dress and a silk shirt--I know, I really spoil myself. I went to the pier and admired the lights, twirling rides, and neon colours. I spent hours walking up and down the beach. I stopped to take photos, I searched for beautiful coloured rocks and smooth shells, and I read a little Hemmingway. It was a beautiful, beautiful day and, by far, one of my favorite days in England. It's so nice to enjoy your own company especially in a place as romantic and charismatic as Brighton beach.

I took several hundred photos that day and am a little overwhelmed with going through them. Does that happen to you? I often get overwhelmed by tasks that are daunting and instead of tackling them I just ignore them. I really think I took some good photos so I need to go through them so I can share. Also, does anyone have any recommendation for good photography blogs? I'm always looking for further inspiration!

Lately, this blog has moved away from fashion towered photography. Part of this is because of all my adventures that I want to share. But mostly I've been sharing photos because this is what I care about. I still love style and dressing up and experimenting but I dislike the pressure of photographing it. I have enjoyed wearing an outfit and not feeling like I need to share it but just wearing it because I love it! Also, photography is very important to me. I have taken more and more of an interest in it as the years go on and I want to share that. I like this little online journal to reflect my passions and photography is my numba one passion. I hope you'll stick with me, continue to give me feedback, and enjoy the twists and turns my life takes.

  1. oo I've always wanted to go to Brighton! I have a few friends here from there and they're delightful people! Sounds like a good place to go for a date ;)

The colors of the pebbles on the beach are great in these photos. You're a talented photographer so I enjoy seeing your photos.
