A Sweet Success

Last Saturday, Boyfriend and I went on another Saturdate. This time we went to the VA Bazaar (on I-95 about 30 minutes outside Richmond). We then headed into Fredericksburg to meet his parents for BBQ. We had plans to go to the Jefferson Davis shrine but we ended up spending the afternoon wandering through the historic district of Fredericksburg. It was a lot of fun.

I thrifted this skirt last summer and have worn it a few times. I considered wearing it as a dress before but it wasn't until a friend suggested that I try it that I felt like it wasn't just a silly idea. I liked the look but I wish I'd worn it on a different day! It was around 95 degrees on this day and I wasn't comfortable walking around old town Fredricksburg with just the dress/skirt.

Oh well...

I feel like every time I post about our adventures I mention a bookstore. haha. Well, Boyfriend and I love secondhand book stores and small, local book stores. They are so much more unique than huge chains. Although, I love B&N--I worked there for over a year. This book store was one of the cooler ones I've seen. The architecture was amazing and so was the shelving. The staff seemed very... trendy, but I didn't talk to them much so I'll try not to stereotype :). I wish I could remember what this place was called!

The VA Bazaar was kind of a let down. It was just junk mostly. There were NO clothing vendors! I was disappointed. Luckily, my Boyfriend is super fantastic and on our way to meet his parents for lunch he spotted a sign for a tucked away thrift store and immediately turned in. I found two pairs of high waisted trousers and a little knick knack (photos to come... when I have a camera). I was glad to only spend about $11 in total on our Saturdate.

Not only did Boyfriend's parents treat us to lunch, they also bought us ice cream! Boyfriend's mom had read about Carl's and decided we had to try some. It was delicious (and needed in the heat of the afternoon).

Notice the line. It continues out of the photo. (I spy a Boyfriend and two parentals!)

I was very happy but very tired. In fact, I fell asleep on the drive home!

This Saturday, Boyfriend is working so no huge Saturdate for us. We are going to get ice cream when he gets off (aroun 10:45). This week has been very busy for us and we haven't had much time. Boyfriend is starting to move into the townhouse so he spent a few days in Richmond packing. I have been having lots of fantastic girl time with some very good friends. All of this is very good but I miss my best friend/love Bucket/Boyfriend. He works 2pm-10pm every day until Friday so there will be very little hang-out time for awhile :(.
